2. What is your main chars name/class/favourite spec?
Lariel, the Frost Mage
3. When did you first start playing WoW?
Around the middle of vanilla beta, almost exactly 15 years ago. There used to be a website called www.worldofwar.net, which back then was the prime source of news about the game. They had plans to have a guild for each region and faction in the game and I joined them back then, since none of my friends were going to play the game. Eventually, Blizzard gave beta keys to sites like this which were then given to people like me, with the caveat that since we didn’t get enough keys, we had to share them with two people. I shared mine with a young guy called Darthrocket who almost never played. \o/
4. What was the first character you ever created?
Some people might laugh at this, given my history, but out of all classes it was a human rogue called Levia. It didn’t get very far though, I deleted it around westfall.
The next character I tried was a druid, which cemented the end of my relationship with my girlfriend of the time when I yelled at her to come look how I CAN SHAPESHIFT INTO A CAT now. She wasn’t impressed.
After that, beta Lariel was born and I met Kiraya and Melina/Celesia and we quested together a lot.

5. What is your favourite zone in the game?
My fondest memory is me and Kira getting to Feralas for the very first time.
After all the previous zones, that place was magical and we literally stood there for several minutes just absorbing the majesty of the place. It just felt great. That never happened again afterwards.
(Ness: Damnit, now I have to go and find a screenshot of Feralas…can’t people just pick the same damn zone….ffs 😉 Also, “that never happened again?” What about Vale of the Eternal Blossom pre-Garrosh?? Huh? HUH?)
6. If your current favourite class didn’t exist, what would your main be?
Some hybrid, I do love the mage playstyle, but the pure dps design is limiting. I’d probably tend towards paladin or druid, to be as versatile as possible, but then again seeing how Blizzard is shitting on people with this attitude over and over, maybe not. I currently enjoy tanking on my DK very much.
7. Name a player that you admire, and why (you don’t have to know them personally)
There are a lot of those, all guildies or ex-guildies. Too long of a list for this, but one sticks out, and that’s Lillouille. Her determination and effort to improve her play, to overcome the challenges she faces and the sheer willpower she has to do it has inspired me when she came back to the game in Legion.
She never gives up, always (to a fault) admits mistakes both to herself and the rest of the group and keeps learning things here and there, always asking for input. All that time she stays positive. I don’t know how she does it. Quite frankly, back then I was complacent and almost at this point why I even bothered with the game. Then she came along and showed me without intending to. I love you for that, Lilly.
8. Tell us about an amazing experience you had in game.
Mists of Pandaria, 10-man heroic (the old mythic) Siegecrafter Blackfuse wipenight. People dying to fires, literally. Things not going too bad, but individual mistakes keeping us from the kill. The atmosphere is tense.
One melee has been subtly pointing fingers for a while now and is now going full out on the ranged, saying that if melee can avoid them, ranged should too, with the underlying message being “I’m good, you suck”. Which was the last drop for me to get annoyed enough to reply to that and I tell them to stop arguing, that ranged has completely different things to worry about than melee and you can’t compare the situations. Everyone needs to shut up and do their fucking thing, but stop bitching about other people. There was more, I don’t remember exactly, but that’s the gist of it. Then the next pull right after that, we killed it. The first thing Zpike said on voice chat was “I LOVE YOU LARI” <3 I love you too.
9. Any favourite movies or music you want to share?
I’ve watched too many movies and listen to too little music to have favourites 😛
But if I have to pick, I pick Amélie, with the OST as music.
10. After WoW, which other game, have you invested a significant amount of time in?
Guild Wars 2, Warframe, Payday 2, Stellaris, Darkest Dungeon and of course the timeless Dwarf Fortress.
